I've thought a lot about how my family's bookshelves shaped me--simply by their presence, as it encouraged me to read, and, particularly by a top shelf containing a number of books by the likes of Hesse, Ginsburg, Kerouac and Malcolm X which I discovered at just the right time as a teenager....YogaforCynicshttp://yogaforcynics.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5091316613928276649.post-46623254110347386552009-05-11T22:19:00.000-04:002009-05-11T22:19:00.000-04:00Lovely autobiography of a heart & mind. I once owned a small dog who completely destroyed a nice little leather bound copy I had - which is entirely beside the point. <br />We had twin book cases, on either side of the fireplace. Don't know where the one went, but I kept one. My daughter has it now. Along with other poetry, I recall my mother's copy of Wings, and All Quiet on the Western Front. Nothing naughty there. I ferreted those out later. But there was Alice, and Arabian Nights.bobbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00658103343742852411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5091316613928276649.post-85314076414466330722009-05-11T14:19:00.000-04:002009-05-11T14:19:00.000-04:00I never knew that Anatomy of a Murder was from a M...I never knew that Anatomy of a Murder was from a Michigander - or should I say - Yooper!
