three more days
until the plane takes off
nothing remains
except for two days worth
of borrowed items: a cot
a blanket, a coffee cup
and this, captured and saved
the moment when the sun answered
my question on the wall:
this place will remember you as
you remember it; you don’t have to
die to become a ghost

What a way to put it. It echoes in my mind. I like such poems which make me think!
strange it may seem to some
This is a very unique take on this prompt Deborah. I liked it very much. I agree with Gautami, it echoes in my mind too.

Very impressive and thoughtful! Just lovely! Happy OSI!
Thank you Deborah, I like it! Funny but our preacher talked of the writing on the Wall that Daniel interpreted (as doom for the king).
He also did a BTW that this bit in Daniel is the origin of the saying, 'read the writing on the wall.' I haven't checked him out on that, probably I won't.
I take it you are moving with all your possessions already sent ahead?
Or you are being deployed with your duffle bag already on that plane?
Thank you for your nice comment, our Adi is a very loving dog, and she can show it very nicely.
..
I love the shadow weather report and photo! Lovely words also. Counting the days until, don't we all identify with this.
How very beautiful and sad. Moments of departure are hard.
I like the idea of a place remembering us. Great insight.
I enjoyed your poem.
....BEAUTIFUL.......
I love both poem and photo. the idea of the place remembering is very appealing.
My second take on this, like you and your read of Frost's poem I did not really get it at first. This morning I see it now! A 'ah ha' moment. Love it, the ghost part.
Very beautiful, particully the last stanza. The Lake Mich. photo is lvely too, it makes me miss home. :)
I must say Deb - I recognize this bit of sunlight on the wall and your poem resonates in memory and in heart. For myself, we 'come home' to many places during the course of our lives and also that coming home sometimes requires the leaving as well. Beautiful.
I love your poetry. Cool photo too.
nice. Love the concept of 2 more days of borrowed thing and love the last stanza.
I enjoyed the suspense of the countdown that you started with. The last stanza is wonderful-- the ghost of memory!
Ah, this is deeply thoughtful. Love the concept and the well-chosen words! The photo is amazing!
hauntingly beautiful...it speaks to my nomadic soul
hauntingly beuatiful
You have produced a lot of thoughts and images in my mind.
