NEVER ENDING (OSI)

never say never
even heavens will collide
spent wheel upon wheel
cinder against cold cinder
only consciousness survives

Dear Deborah--
And I'm not sure of even that.
Maybe there's something beyond consciousness--like...even consciousness is part of duality?

This lovely, lovely, lovely.

Thank you--

I like the way consciousness survives cataclysm, here. I'm a great believer that it is there, deep within the universe itself.

It is interesting to me how many of us are grappling with these dichotomies this week via the prompt. I love how you nailed that last line. Transcendent....

I do believe there is something beyond consciousness and I too believe that it survives cataclysm.
I love your post!

that's interesting, does the mind continues even after the body dies? I can't really say I believe in that but there's always the small part of me that believes it

Gives us so much to ponder. You did an amazing job of the prompt this week.(thank you for taking the time to stop by and read and comment).

Quite a thought provoking tanka. The heavens may collide but who is to say what form consciousness may take, or where?

You have captured the strange and mysterious nature of consciousness here. What is it exactly? I love the way you open up questions with this statement.

Pretty cosmic observation there! I agree with Anthony North, consciousness is very much a part of the universe. It will still be there even when things "end"-or will they just be changing form, possibly starting the whole thing over?

Those galaxies should be stopped for reckless driving...
Great poem.

A lovely and thought provoking poem. I believe we are meant to wonder - never to know the answer, if there is one, at least in this life.

When I was small, I used to worry about forever. I could not grasp the idea of it, and the fact that something could just go on and on. Thank goodness, I am over that now. But.... you poem brought that all back.

Your colliding galaxys look like eyes. I love your poem and the final line is perfect!

Well, Deborah you said your poem might not comfort me. I had not thought of consciousness surviving.

Thank you very much for your encouragement about my poems. And please forgive me for returning her so late. I am behind and may never get caught up.
