We are into our third day of overcast rainy weather here on the north shore of Lake Erie. Mind you, there’s snow over in Michigan, and a really deep lake effect snow forecast for the Cleveland/Buffalo/Pittsburgh area, so I suppose we on the west end of Lake Erie can consider ourselves lucky. But when the days go by with little more that the occasional peep of sunlight (usually just moments before it sets!) we have to work hard at making enough vitamin D. I take supplements, but I also have an SAD lamp on top of my computer. It’s shining down on me right now like a day at the beach. Almost.
Yesterday on my way to have coffee with a friend, I took a swing into the marina for these shots. There were a few cars in the lot - people like me, just sitting, enjoying the beautiful somber view, but all the boats slips were empty. A few lights in the park were on, as if the last person to leave at the end of summer had forgotten to turn them off. I thought the lamps looked so pretty, so I lingered a moment with the lyrics to "The Boys of Summer" running through my head.

Ah, yes, the gray of winter! We had a beautifully sunny day yesterday, however, and I took advantage of it to get out and run errands. Today, however, it is back to gray and I could use your "sun lamp". The park above the harbor is bleak and gray and empty, the deserted beach looks like another planet.
I remember days like that from time I lived in Huron years ago. Thank you for rekindling those memories. So how do I locate your old rock and roll blog?
So far, we're hanging on to some sunshine and comfortable sweatshirt temperatures. But, our days of gray skies and misty landscapes are approaching fast. The weather man tell us tomorrow afternoon and Thanksgiving Day. I don't mind at all. They do bring a softness to the mood of the country lanes we travel... and to ourselves as well.
Here, too, we are beginning to have a lot of no sun time...not good for my moods. It really does affect me...
winter is coming...glad we will have sunshine most of the time. it is a challenge to keep your spirits up without sun...happy thanksgiving.

Different perspectives of different people.... here in central India we yearn for the clouds, the winter... we get so much of sun we are almost fed up of it.
Grey skies indeed - very foggy here today with raindrops on the now leafless trees - but a bunch of coal tits have been buzzing around the rose bush.
BTW the photo of SW Dam on my blog is from 1967!
Enjoyed your photos, that would be very pleasant sitting in the car for a while looking at the view, listening to the music.
