FADING MEMORIES (OSI)

there is one memory
something that will
not fade away
but remain, persistent
as the ghost of wildflowers
gathered up, held close
petals, stamens pressed
without regard for
bright pollen, permanently
staining a white summer blouse
there will always be
this one, indelible trace
preserved here (hand touching
heart) forever

How wonderful, Deborah; you leave us the reader with the freedom to wonder and imagine what such a memory might be, and to supply our own answers from our own persistent memory. Bravo!

A precios memory, and the stain is just a pleasant reminder of that day.

Another great Deb post!!!! Thanks!!!! I hope that memories won't fade--other than the bad ones! I have a way of letting the bad things that happen in life FADE... I refuse to sit back and allow that bitterness to consume me. On the other hand, I remember the good things that have happened---and will savor them for eternity.
Hugs,
Betsy

Truly beautiful!
I love the open-endedness of it, leaving us room to add our own memory.

Hi Deborah. Your poem is truth. Even those memories, stains, might fade? I vaguely remember getting flowers once when I was in the hospital but I can't remember when or where.
The flower bouquet is very pretty, the blue ones look similar to our Texas bluebonnets only smaller.

I love the detail of the staining of the white blouse.

Indeed...the pollen of these wild flowers grew memories in the heart.

Beautiful poem.

The bright pollen of a ghost of a wildflower-- wonderful imagery. Made me remember the times my children brought me handfuls of wildflowers.

..with soft crayons u've filled the colors of those wild blossoms and the

I wonder about the memory, the moment when the flower was pressed close, the importance of the reminder that the shirt is worn again and again....Thank you.

Yes, nice job. I love the photo of that goose. I had a bunch of geese while my boys were growing up..and they are characters! What squawkers!

That is so absolutely beautiful and divine and lovely. It reminds me of my always telling my children, if I should die, I would always remain here (finger touching temple) and here (finger touching heart).
