IMPORTANT FOLLOW-UP TO PREVIOUS “NUCLEAR WINTER” POST

Not long after I put up the previous post on Nuclear Winter, the email below arrived in my inbox. As you may have noticed in my blog margin, I am a supporter of Dr. Steven Greer’s Orion Project, and his plan to develop and disseminate much-needed green energy technology. Dr. Greer has been working to raise the necessary 3 million (what a paltry sum that sounds like, now!) to develop prototypes, and present his green energy solutions to the world.

I’ve pasted the entire email here, but am also including a link you can click on (you can also click on the one in the margin) that will take you to the ORION PROJECT WEBSITE, where you can access the “click-ready” fax to send President Obama and Congress. I hope you are able to take time to check this out, and if you feel so moved, you might mention this project and include a link on your own blogs. We finally have a White House that backs science, understands the ramifications of global climate instability, and wants to act on putting green energy in place, so the time has never been better to act! Don't forget - si se puede!
Thanks, and Peace out-
Deb

Dear Friends and Supporters,

With a new Administration in Washington that has pledged transparency and a new energy economy, it is time for each of us to make our voices heard. Please take the time to send President Obama and your Senators and representative in Congress a fax letter expressing your desire to see the end of secrecy and full disclosure on new energy solutions. A new energy briefing is available on our website. You can also print out this Briefing and give it directly to your member of Congress when they are in your home office.

We believe that President Obama and many members of Congress are receptive to the idea of change and Disclosure. I have been specifically told by Washington insiders that they need to urgently hear from YOU the people to make this happen. Right now, billions of dollars are going into old-thinking energy solutions while the new energy solutions that have been suppressed or ignored for nearly 100 years languish. We must refocus the debate away from old solutions like clean coal and bio-fuels and towards genuine new energy solutions like zero point energy and other advances in energy generation.

We have set up a free fax system that permits you to send the letter as it exists or modify it to your own words, and fax it directly to the President and Congress. Please do this immediately and ask that all those on your email list, family, friends and colleagues do the same.

It is time for decisive action and we need to all pull together at this time in history to make REAL change happen!

Thank you for your help and support!

Okay. I created a widget (sadly, it looks like a 2 year old did the writing) and put it in my sidebar. If you click the picture it links up to the project home page.

@Kat - thanks! TOP is really onto some viable technology. Imagine having a black box energy source for every home and business, no more downed power lines, brown- or blackouts, no more grid upkeep, not to mention what it could mean to the so-called third world!

it's time for change, let's hope we can bring it about.

I've sent faxes to Obama and -- oh, Lord, I'm having a senior moment -- the Canadian Prime Minister, Washington Senators Cantwell and Murray. Thanks for helping the rest of us at least contribute another voice.

Cool! Will do!

Years ago I went on a family holiday to Niagara Falls. The Canadian side of the Falls was gorgeous and the US side was a mess. It stuck in my mind that Canadians kept things clean and good, unlike people in the US, with a good part of our "rust belt" polluting the Great Lakes like crazy. Money First, and where is mother nature? way far down on the list of priorities. I'm not slamming Americans here, as I think most of us dream of a clean environment and try to do our part, but I still have that idea from the childhood trip to the falls that Canada is pristine.

I think sadly that America learned nothing at all from the 3 mile Island incident.

Avid Reader said...

they say the 3 mile island "cleanup" only cost the USA
$975 million dollars -- I wonder how much of that $ went into pockets?

and as for public health concerns? the govt. said the ONLY health problems were caused by the MEDIA scaring people into being "overly stressed out over nothing"

Great idea! Count me in! I wish we could have gotten some of the monies from the stimulous package that is so bloated with ridiculous pet projects and useless solutions to our nations woes. Maybe if enough people write often enough, we'll get through.

Happy Val's Day Deborah. Here's hoping for positive change and -- doing something about it rather than just thinking nothing will work and our children's future is bleak. It's time.

Thank you for the link, I'll talk to some people in town about setting up a fundraiser for TOP--it would be a great idea for spring (not so silent spring)

Love the photo on this post...where was it taken??

Deborah Godin said...

@ Catherine - the photo is Lake Erie, from my backyard in Leamington, Ontario

@ Squirrel - Great idea! I'm think I'll look into something up here, too.

Sounds like it may be "shovel ready!" That's the new catch word that everyone's grabbing on to to ride the stimulus wave. But this example is a perfect example of how we should be investing dollars to pay off in the long run, not short term spending ...
