sky like a wide gate
wind like a thousand loose dogs
a rainbow and ghost
I wanted to make a kind of word play with this prompt, on the two meanings of spectral - one derived from spectrum, and the other from specter.

Dear Deborah--
AH!!! I loved this--those of us with a penchant for the big sky country well understand some of the imagery--
Wildness in 3 lines--
Thank you--and again!
A great one, Deborah! gorgesous photo and words to match! Thank you as always for the morning lift!
HOW FUN! I love the images in words and photo!
Loved the words and image. The rainbows are a welcome site that put a smile on my face after a lousy day. Thanks!
..lovely colors of the spectrum & in all probability a friendly ghost..many thanks for sharing this wonder..
You did a good job on including both!
You did great to make two entirely different images in the same work of art.
...with words and photo.
Ah, the mysteries of nature. You put it magically.
Beautiful, Deb...You are entirely too creative!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
So succinct and so perfect, really. I am envious of " sky like a wide gate" -- there is so much here, Deb. Just super.
Rainbow and Ghost
remember your post with the Will-o-the-wisp?
look what I found today in an old encyclopedia:
jack-o'-lantern : a mysterious light seen at night flickering over water, marshes moors, or the bayou; when approached, it advances on, always out of reach. The phenomenon is also known as Foolish Fire (Ignis Fatuus) and will-o'-the-wisp. There are many other local names for it as well, always purported to be a lost soul rejected by, or escaped from hell, carrying its own coals of hell on its wanderings. Most likely due to a spontaneous burning of marsh gases, methane produced by decomposing plant matter.
what can I say? I wish I knew where to find all the names for it!
Beautiful poetry!
Then of course there's the Spectral Tarsier...
What a lovely double image for this prompt. I like that you chose to look at this word with more than one way.
Oh, this is really good. So compressed and so wide, both.
I am imagining the wind running through the raceway between those beautiful rainbows. I enjoyed the word play.
such thundering imagery! I loved this. Thank you
This is wonderful! Photo and your imagination...great entry.
before Sir Isaac Newton scientists called everything unknown a SPECTRUM meaning A THING WHICH APPEARS especially when just calling it a THING would have gotten them tossed out of polite scientific society - then that old astrologer used it exclusively for the mystical 7 colors and now it relates to that and to various pathologies (truly every pathology being a capability and an advantage) - ectoplasm - and as a handy catchall to show one's complicated state of mind: "fourth world agriculture relies on a spectrum of superior notions of tillage"
Inventive and beautiful! Well done.
Well, you did it perfectly! Now I am going to think of this when the wind blows like crazy.
What a beautiful photograph...and your words suited it perfectly!
You succeeded in what you were trying to do, very, very well. this is a fantastic photo, and I love the poem and the idea behind it.
Wow! This is wonderful. Wonderful!
This is beautiful, I love rainbows ... Ha! "wind like a thousand loose dogs" ... now that's something to think about. Nature is such a beautiful thing to write about ...
Awesome! Your cat's were beautiful too. :)
