Lots of people regularly blog about their pets, and I really enjoy reading about and seeing them. However, it occurred to me that I rarely mention my guys, so here at last is an introduction to my inter-species roommates. Like all cats, they have turned napping to an art form. But they are very active when not napping, and when they all get 'the rips' at the same time, all you can do is duck! I managed to get photos that - except for Elliott who is nodding off in his chair - that show them awake but not dashing around. They really only seem to have two speeds.
Elliott - a rescue cat from the Tsuu T'ina reserve, Calgary. A real little gentleman, with a handsome two-tone smoke coat.
Flash - a pound rescue cat from Okotoks, Alberta. The only surviving member of a family of 5 feral barn cats. She was injured one fall and spent the winter indoors with all of us, mending and getting very tame, and never returned to the wild. Such a tender little heart.
Sweeney - got her as a kitten from a friend the foothills. She thinks because she has a cute nose, she can get away with anything, and is always startled when it doesn't work for her. There are limits.
Pearl - the baby, the resident diva, and sometimes a bit of a beyotch to Flash and Elliott. She came from the same friend as Sweeney, and even nursed from Sweeney's mom as a kitten. She never takes a swipe at Sweeney like she does the other two. I keep everybody's claws clipped since they are all happy indoor-only cats!

Oh, they are all beautiful, furry friends, Deborah! Haven't had a cat in sometime, but always had wonderful ones. With Sam and Mojo both I have about all I can handle -- particulary with my son, Adam, traveling as much as he does. Thanks so much for the pictures!
What is it with the white females? They really can be "Beyotches" in a big way!
They're all sweet.
Kat
Deb, it is a pleasure to meet the ladies and the gent. You mentioned them sometimes and it's great to see them up close! How long exactly does it take for the wild cat to be accepted into the fold? Ours two older females have not budged a mm.
But Zoe is a stinker so that might have something to do with it.
I'm so glad you posted your beautiful kitty photos! I loved hearing about their personalities! No two cats are alike in my opinon. Marvin my cat says hello and would like to know what their favorite toys are? (His are my husband's feet, a laser pointer and milk rings.)
fun photos of your little ones...more like kiddies than roommates especially if they rule the roost.
They are all lovely. I am definitely not a cat person, but I do admire their beauty and grace - and attitude
All of my children are or have been owned by cats. I spent a year as a foster mom to one, while my youngest taught in Hungary. Bunda was a very well behaved cat, and tolerated me politely for the entire year almost without incident.
I'm partial to Flash & I'm sure you can guess why!
Beautiful kitties, Deb... I love the diva!!!! She looks like the cat I grew up with, Snowball.
Send me your email (betsyadams@mac.com) and I'll send you the Dialect article. It was emailed to me.
Hugs,
Betsy
Dennis thinks Sweeney looks pretty nice.
Dennis got outcat as word verification, does that mean anything?
I like Elliott!
I'm a sucker for a two toned smoke coat!
holy moly I got
tidecati as word ver. is Word ver. haunted?
Beautiful cats!! I love to see rescue cats find a home and be happy. I too saved a feral cat and you would never know by looking at her that she was once feral. In fact, she kind of looks like your black and white one. Cat fights can be awful sometimes. Some days they get along but other days, the fur really flies. ;o)
Thanks for introducing us to your furry family.
I don't think I knew you had cats! They are all beautiful...I had never heard it called 'the rips' but I sure know what you are talking about. Here it is like taking your life in your hands when they start. But they don't do it that often now.
I love the way Flash is hanging with Buddha. Great stuff.
Hi Deborah! I am glad that you shared your cats with us. They are all beautiful. Don't you love the look you get when you correct them. First the look of shock. Then the 'don't tell me what to do' look with the flick of the tail as they walk away. Gotta love them. Lisa
Deborah Love seeing all your fur babies! I belive that cats are collectables..one can NEVER have enough! Having said that I went from 3 to 2..I'd love to have more but dear natureboy feels 2's company enough.
Okotoks!! I have good friend there and yes they have several barn cats and when one gets..taken by the nocturnals...they say oh well that's the life of barn cats...Hurrah that Flash was rescued by you!
Purzzzzzzz..to you and the gang!
I live in a flat and it is difficult to keep a pet... but I do get other critters for company. :)
I love cats and we always had them growing up. My husband is allergic to cats and I always say it is a true testament of my love for him that we don't have any cats now. You are right your cat Sweeney has a cute nose. I enjoyed looking at your blog. Thanks for visiting my mother's. Riel
Great set of companions you've got there!!
Thanks for introducing us--
Interested in our virtual book group? we're considering reading Out Stealing Horses for the month of March. It seems like a book you'd enjoy, or if you've already read it, you could share your thoughts when we begin discussing it. Also we're taking suggestions, trying to get the group formed.
Fantastici gatti ! :-)
Oh gosh, I have a male cat, James that looks almost exactly like Pearl!
