I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that we have seen the last of the really frigid days. A friend told me yesterday that warmer temps, maybe even into the 50sF, or double digits Celsius, are coming our way soon. Already big cracks are appearing in the ice along the shore, and ribbons of open water appear during the day, even if the still freeze over at night. So here is my tribute to the beautiful sunsets of winter over the frozen lake.

Oh, Deborah, those are just breathtaking! Incredible shots! And I am so hoping we've seen the last of the really cold weather, too. Thanks for sharing these and Happpy SWF!
So so beautiful! I couldn't stop gazing! :)
Absolutely gorgeous!! I so hope you are right about no more suns of winter. I so want spring right about now!
Lovely, lovely pictures. We're in the 80's already. Going to be a hot summer. Our "summer lite" (your winter) is over. *sigh*
wonderful photos-we can always hope...although yesterday I saw fruit trees in bloom and our weather is 70 degrees.
The third picture is beautiful. Beautiful as spring is winter sunsets have a charm of their own.
Here's wishing for warmer temps your way soon.
BTW, you have lovely photos.
These pictures are truly beautiful.
I hope you're right, saying farewell to frigid temperatures. This morning started out at 16 degrees here.
Breathtaking. Our shots are so similar this week. The lake, frozen or not, sure does generate and amazing sunset.
I love the differnt shades of pink and blue, very nice shots.
Have a great weekend!

The lake just shimmers with the sun's glow in that last one. All of these are so lovely. Here's to warmer days...
Beautiful shots. It still looks mighty cold. It near 40 here today after 5 degrees on Monday and 15 on Tuesday. But the trees are getting those little knobs and there are snowless splotches here and there. I just can't wait for flowers and leaves.
Wow, gorgeous sunsets...all of them...beautiful colors...I love Lake Erie...
Beautiful sky and great colors :)
Deb, these are so beautiful! We had temperatures in the 60's today, but the wind would almost blow me off my feet.
Stunning pics. It won't be long now, hang in there.
Wow! Gorgeous shots.
Just wonderful, all four, but the first one is filled with such gentle magic that it surpasses the others.
I hope you're right! I think we've seen the last of the big snow blasts too! (I hope so cuz my snowplow guy is going on vacation this week - lol!) Beautiful sky photos - you just have the most fabulous views!
Lovely colors and light, Deborah. And yes, I think spring may be approaching a bit closer - the snow is almost gone and I'm seeing many more birds, rabbits, and squirrels. And there's open water here and there as well. Life is sunny, warm, and good.
The Great Lakes are so beautiful and the sunsets each day are unique. I hope you are not tempting fate with your predictions of spring!! We had 60 cm of snow the week of March 9th last year.
A good series of skywatch photos, I know I am ready for spring.
Absolutely gorgeous water/sunset pictures, Deb... The colors are fabulous. I see so many sunset photos --but these are some of the best.
Hugs,
Betsy
The colours are oh so beautiful. You're right, farewell to winter...those delicate colours of a waning season. Thank you for sharing. Smiles :}
Beautifully done, it must be amazing to watch the seasons of the lake. I would love to be there to see the ice breaking up. Happy SWF!
They are all beautiful but I love the pastel colors in the first and that last one is incredible the way the reflections are on top of the waves. Gorgeous!
oh, my, I really love that first one, but they're all gorgeous. Almost makes me wish I were there.
Beautiful shots, Deborah, and I sure hope you're right about the end of the really cold temperatures. ;-)
all stunners!
I love the sky... what can I say. There must be books out there about the sky... and you would know some titles.
Hi Deborah!! for a long time I couldn't cmment on your blog and now------I can. LOL
Love the sunset and the idea of saying farewell to the winter. We did have a touch of snow yesterday and more is in the forecast but it goes away in a day. We are not frozen as where you are. MB
Deborah, these are lovey. I wish you warm spring weather soon with blossoms to follow!
Thanks for beautiful scenery
