SURF'S UP on LAKE ERIE

Remember all those photos I posted over the winter months, of the flat frozen lake with a couple of ice mountains? Well, all that's changed now that spring has sprung. The heavy snow we received this winter, plus a few days of heavy rain over the weekend, and the lake level is pretty high. When the big winds come, we get lots of crash and splash against the breakwall. Trust me, you don't want to be standing there!

Wow, those are some impressive swells. They would do the Pacific proud on a windy day.

I sure hope those walls are high enough!

Snow here today. How about you? (Just a dusting though.)

Oh, WOW! Deb, those are fabulous shots! I'd give anything to see that! I have a think about bodies of water that would seem a little strange for someone who was born and raised in west Texas??? But that's one thing I love about Seattle, we're so close to the Sound! Thanks for sharing these! Beautiful!

The surf sure is up! That seems to me to be more like a sea than a lake!

No, I don't want to be standing there when a wave hits, unless it is unbearably hot outside, then I'd get closer to the wall. Love those waves.

I can visualize myself being slammed against that tree by the surf - lol!!

I think I would be a little bit nervous if I lived near the lake that it would go over the wall and flood my home.

I can't believe it's a lake!! It looks like the Atlantic Ocean!

When enlarged, you almost feel like you are going to feel that splash! I bet your home is a wonderful place to watch the seasons come and go!

Now that is some wave action! I'm glad you kept some distance between you and the break wall. Impressive.

Nice pictures. I like to watch the waves roll in but the swells make me sick if I am in a boat. My husband fishes on the Great Lakes without me.
