Does anyone else remember being told as a kid not to make faces or stick out your tongue, because "if the wind changes your face will freeze and stay like that"? Yesterday, the offshore wind we'd been having turned on a dime. With the spring lake level so high, waves that normally wouldn't make much splashover were sending up plumes almost to the tops of the red maples. I didn't quite catch them at their peak height, but you can see they really generated some impressive spray. The bottom shot is of the neighbor's yard two doors down this morning - they've got a pretty good-sized puddle happening. Hope the wind dies down soon. Then the ground can soak up all the excess water, and everyone caught with their eyes crossed and their tongue's out can relax. (click to enlarge)

Wow, restless air ~ swooping swirling !
there's noting in the way so I'll make spray (that's air talkin')
Well, it is pretty, but I wouldn't want to be out there in the middle of it, unless it was about a hundred degrees.
Wow indeed!!
Aloha
Beautiful, and powerful.
My momma always told me "Your face will freeze like that" without needing the wind to change.
Those are some high crashing waves! Wow!
I enlarged, and Whoa! even the drops are clear. It is almost summer here and I have the urge to get drenched in those drops. :)
Wow! Fantastic water action shots.
Lovely.
