SKYWATCH FRIDAY – Maya (Lake Erie)

Along the north shore this morning it looks and feels like the sky is everywhere and nowhere. Fog obscures the details of the backyards, and totally dissolves the view of the lake. The fog collects on porch screens and patio furniture, giving the appearance of rain, but you could stand outside for a long time without a jacket and feel merely refreshed, not soaked. The only sound is the gentle lapping of invisible waves; the only movement a skimming swallow, briefly manifesting, then just as quickly fading back into the mystery.

To view more skies from all around our beautiful planet, or to join in, visit SKYWATCH. Live links after 2:30 p.m. EST time or 19:30 GMT

Ooooh, so lovely! You can almost feel the silence and the shush of the lapping water! Glad it's warm! I know it's going to be warm here again one of these days. Happy SWF!

Oh, so beautiful. I remember the winter shots--the thick ice merging with the sky, the snowy ground merging with the sky.... Such an intimate relationship between heaven and earth there. Lovely.

The green is very, very green. I love the drama of your landscape.

Lovely photos. I love misty mornings with sometimes the promise of sun later.

It looks much the same on our side of the lake.

One nice side-effect of Skywatch is that I appreciate all skies more now, not just the bright, sunshiny ones.

I'm reading these days..imagination running wild!

ooh! Spooky! I love fog, but we don't get the real thing often, just that drifty ground fog. Do you have fog horns there? Don't they just sound great coming out of the white??

The name of your blog takes on new meaning for Skywatch days...if I could bottle up some of our sunshine and send it to you, I would - in exchange for some of that luscious mist!

Oh fog is so beautiful. The mist creates a lot of drama in the picture.

I love it- I miss fog sometimes as it is really a rare thing in Tucson. I love the rain- I'll live vicariously through your blog the next couple of months- some of our driest in the year.

I love the misty feeling, very peaceful. Reminds me a little of our west coast weather!

To be there and experience and see the sight must have been great. Love the pictures.

I really get such a peaceful feeling looking at the rain on your outdoor table. It's that kind of weather which is right up there with bright blue sky -- direct opposites!
