SKYWATCH FRIDAY – Sacred Geometry (Lake Erie)

This is a recent shot, taken from my Ontario backyard, looking towards the general area of the Michigan-Ohio border. They always say there are no straight lines in nature, but this cloud looks pretty contradictory to me. First it reminded me of some of my Dad’s old drafting tools and measuring tools. From there I jumped to the old days of my Art History major, and one of my favorite works - William Blake’s “Ancient of Days (God as an Architect)” Finally, both compass and right angle reminded me of the symbol on the front of the old Masonic Auditorium that was a cultural and concert venue when I was a kid in Detroit.

You are so right, we always get to see amazing patterns in the clouds. Quite touching to see your Dad's drafting tools up there.

This IS unusual. Must be one bit of weather colliding with another. Great eye.

I see the definite shape of a rectangle just a short height above the horizon. My old Geometry teacher would have loved this picture!

And who would have thought the straight line would have been a cloud? Not me. Cool picture.
