There's more movement that the eye can detect at the microscopic and metaphorical level. It's like the duck floating on still water with its feet paddling madly below the ground, out of sight.
reminds me of hiking in our area and looking closely at the ground to find very small remnants of ancient native american pots. they tell a story of long ago.
Are you sure there aren't a few little germs (tiny organisms) mingling in with that still life with (the) atoms? You can tell I like it. .. BTW, after you came I put a picture of four old men on a bench with my verse. ..
It takes a masterful haiku for me to sigh "ahhhh! Superb!" It has just the right mix of imagery, sound, form, and word choice. That last line is a beaut.
The Cloud Messenger (Meghadūta) is a lyric poem by the respected Indian poet, Kālidāsa. The poem centers around a yaksa in exile. Longing for his beloved, waiting for him on a Himalayan mountain, he asks a cloud to take a message to her. The sights he tells the cloud it will see on its way make up most of the poem.
The idea of recording observations appeals to me. I thought The Cloud Messenger was the perfect title for a blog about the journey that we all make as we move through our days.
I'm a baby boomer who grew up dancing in the streets of Detroit during the classic Motown years, lived beside the Rocky Mountains for many years, now retired and living (and writing full time) in S. Ontario. I have one blog for rock 'n' roll oldies, and one for nature, poetry and life along the Lake.

... if I could see an atom move, a different career would I chose ...
"bowl of emptiness" now that's movement.
Very, very Buddhist. The universe is just so many molecules vibrating.
Yes, oh yes. The way you have illustrated this is perfect for me this week. Thank you.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. I am studying a book about the cup as a metaphor for the relationship with the divine. This is perfect.

The universe is alive at ever level. To know it and move with it!

There is so much movement our eyes cannot see! Wonderful interpretation!
The first line also brings to mind how painfully slow we addressing the needs of those whose bowls are empty everyday.
