Music is never far from my mind or my ears, and this past week the sky has been full of music. First we have another of the Aquarian Age occurrences, with a Jupiter / Mars alignment. Remember the lyrics from the song “Aquarius” from the 60s musical,
Hair?
When the moon is in the seventh houseAnd Jupiter aligns with MarsThen peace will guide the planetsAnd love will steer the starsLow over the horizon in the early morning, the conjunction of Jupiter and Mars (and little Mercury, too) was fading just as the sun was rising. Then at the end of the day, Venus followed the trail they blazed, lighting the evening sky (click to enlarge). It reminded me of how our ancestors used to depend on the stars for their directions at night, for knowing where and when to go, and for knowing how to get back safely as well. The title of this post is a line from the song, “Fix You” by Coldplay –
Lights will guide you home.

This is such a beautiful picture, Deborah. And a lovely explanation as well.
What a stunning photo Deborah. I love how you can see the stars as well as the beginning of the sun coming up!
So peaceful and serene; what magnificent colors your horizon gives you.
Really breathtaking, Deborah! I always loved the song as well. And the words do fit the picture! Incredible colors!

Deborah I love the songs your sky sing! A beauy for sure! :) Anna
"The sky is full of music" Now, there's a line worth plagerizing if I ever read one.
Lovely shot... lovely thoughts.
I was a major fan of "Hair". As a shy little Mormon girl with absolutely NO worldly knowledge... it was quite shocking for my kith and kin that I was so enamoured with it. My mother was mortified when I went to see it...well, the first time she was mortified. The second time she was visably upset, the third time she was resigned, but still disappointed in my decision. The whole experience is all so funny now that I look back at it.
Beautiful shot!
I thought it was so cool when that song came out. My friends were so jealous because I was an Aquarian!
Stunning shot!
You capture some very beautiful moments!
That is a stunning shot, yea that adjective has already been used a couple of times but that is exactly what i want to say !
wow! so soothing.....
I admire the night skies but can identify little more that the moon and the Big Dipper. Your picture is beautiful!! Thanks for you comment on my post. I never heard the term "pileus" before (makes a lot of sense). You are very knowledgable indeed.
Beautiful photo! wonderful color...I do remember the song...I went to Lake Erie last week and posted a few shots...
Dear Deborah--
This is a stunning photo!! And I loved the post, too. Last weekend around our fire circle, amidst some howling at the moon, we broke into 'age of aquarius'...it was fun to revive the words and the emotions that song carries!
Thanks for this--
You are a lovie--
Oh!
And the photo would do well for this coming week's OSI prompt, too--'twilight'!!
I loved the link to the heart on your sidebar--made me laugh outloud. I put the site on my facebook page...
Lovely. One perfect star (or planet) to wish upon.
