P.S.
Many thanks to much admired blogging friends Kat and Sylvia for giving awards to this blog. Do give them a visit if you don't already, they are both a delight. I'll work on passing them along in a future post; thanks, gals!

fun photo and haiku, it does move slowly until the floods or spring runoff at least in our area.

Beautiful--would love to be in that picture.

I had thought I would see what the prompt was this weekend...just to see for myself what I could come up with. But I seen the word SLOWLY and the first thing that popped into my head is this one episode of I Love Lucy and I cannot get it out.

Yes, Miz Deborah, inexorably!

Beautiful--could feel the turn of the earth under my feet reading this one and observing the photo--

Many thanks!

Deborah, I was thinking one thing about your poem, then I read the tag. Just what you were writing of in your last post.

The photo looks like a place I would love to visit.

Well, that is the slowest 'slowly' I've read so far! From a mighty mountain to fine sand in many a millennia! Well done!

Oh dear, this is an area I know well...we have our Canadian family reunions near this river. It's winding ways through the valley you have captured very well. Thank you for the contented sigh this gave me.

Delightful. I'd love to dip my toes in that :)

A river is always best moving slowly. Great words and pic.

Deb, will you get to see that SOON???? You'll probably have to wait several months to see 'that' picture--and get to walk on the sandy beach!!!! OH--makes me yearn for spring/summer.

Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful scene AND haiku-they are perfect together.

This is indeed a slow process. Have you read any of Annie Dilliard's books? She speaks of this process very eloquently.

Love the haiku. It sounds like something I want to do right now!!

Congrats on the award.

Slowly the snow and rain beats on the mountaing stones and soil creating sand for the beaches as the river carries it slowly at some times and fast at other tines to places.
I like the thoughts.

The passage of time on the mountain waters is a slow, beautiful carving of history. Peace, JP/deb

Yes, spring is sure to come .. one of my favorite things is to see the changing of the seasons unfold, and all their glory.

That's a great river curve. As a hydrologist I approve!

I thought of a small (2 inch) pumice rock I rescued from Mt. St. Hellen's rath. It was soooooo rounded but it's lightness surprised me.
In our Galveston we are about ready to truck in new sand for our beaches which were eroded away. It is a very slow process to make sand from mountain rock pebbles. But mother nature's Hurricane Ike cleaned them out in no time.

VERY slowly.
All those centuries for, in the end, getting trapped in our bathing suits.
The irony.
Does the sand remember the boulder it used to be?
