POINT PELEE in OCTOBER

Even though the day kind of chilly and glum, and it was 'spitting' yesterday, I decided to drive over to Point Pelee to see what was up. By the time I got to the Tip parking lot (they let cars drive all the way out in the off-season) it was raining in earnest, so I didn't get out and walk the rest of the way to see what shape the southern-most point of the country was in. But here's what else I found:

All the color is in the trees and bushes; nothing in the sky or the water!

If you ever decide to do anything 'cold turkey' this is what it will look like. If you do anything 'wet turkey' this is it, too.

You can have the boardwalk at the marsh all to yourself.

All the cottages in The Narrows (road leading into the Park gate) are closed up tight for winter.

Beautiful!

The trees and bushes do make up for lack of color elsewhere, don't they?

Terrific shots, Deborah! And Bobbie is right the colorful trees and bushes do make up for the gray everywhere else! It looks the same here, particularly down by the habor. Ah well, memories of summer!

Have a great weekend -- lack of color or not!

Really nice to have it to yourself for just a wee bit.

My husband was just saying this weekend that the fall colors were so much prettier in the rain. Pelee looks like a neat place to visit. Is it crowded in season?

I wonder where cold turkey came from, anyway?

Hi Deb, I'm trying to catch up on blogs... It will take me forever!!!! ha.... Seeing your 'jaunt' in the rain reminded me of our trip to Tallulah Gorge in the RAIN. We also had the area to ourselves!!!! ha

Glad to be home --after 3 trips back to back!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

To me this seems like the perfect time to be there! Not so many birds but I would love the solitude! Not the cold though! I hope you had a warm fire to come home to!

I love how you pointed out the colors in the foliage versus the sky! How creative. I was thinking of you when I posted on my blog today. :)
