SKYWATCH FRIDAY - Wind and Water (Lake Erie)

High winds whipped up the water all afternoon, and splashed spray up to the sky, as if trying to douse the sun’s fire. At day's end, the molten ball won out, and the waves roared in their defeat all night in the dark.

Super photo of the water leaping about on the quay; by the way, is there a place to put a boat in there at your shoreline?

Oh, I love being able to see the water leaping and "trying to douse the sun's fire"! You do say it so well, as always, Deborah. Gorgeous colors and sunset! I agree with Dianne, too, the lake is dancing for you!

Have a great weekend! Stay warm!

So lovely. I never tire viewing photos (or real life) of the sky. Enjoyed the meaning of feng shui.

Isn't it amazing how the water can be calm at one moment and whipped into waves the next? I live on a lake and I know how that can happen. I guess that's the trade off. I invite you to come see my clearing skies. - Margy

I thought about you as I flew from Cleveland to Toronto this week and watched the setting sun illuminate Lake Erie. After that, the full moon shone above the heavy cloud that covered Toronto. The sky is so interesting!

I love your choice of words and the way you personified the waves, especially.
